Falling in Reverse's 2011 debut The Drug in Me Is You as an indie exclusive on translucent red vinyl, with "Raised by Wolves" and the title track.
This indie exclusive pressing comes on limited translucent red vinyl. The album opened at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 with 18,000 copies in its first week and went gold in the US in 2019.
Most debut albums are written in a garage or a bedroom. Ronnie Radke wrote every lyric on The Drug in Me Is You during two years away from the music business, reading old fan letters and working out exactly what people wanted to hear from him next. When he got out in December 2010, he and his new band, Falling in Reverse, went straight to Paint It Black Studios in Orlando and spent two months turning those notebooks into a record.
Producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who had worked with Radke years earlier, keeps the whole thing tight and shiny. The plan was once a double album, one disc post-hardcore and one pop punk; instead it all landed on one LP, so "Raised by Wolves" and "Tragic Magic" swing from breakdowns to sky-high choruses inside a single song. Radke compared the mix to Norma Jean, Underoath and Katy Perry in roughly equal measure, and "Sink or Swim" even borrows a beat from Eminem and Dr. Dre for its breakdown. "I'm Not a Vampire" became the band's calling card, and "Good Girls Bad Guys" is pure Warped Tour sugar.
Guitar World put it at No. 21 on its list of the best albums of 2011, and it remains the sole record with founding bassist Nason Schoeffler and drummer Scott Gee. Radke called it a breakup album about a band rather than a girl, which is certainly a cheaper way to write one.
