About the album

By 2002 Eminem was the most famous (and most argued-about) rapper on the planet, and The Eminem Show turned the camera on the circus around him. He produced most of it himself, leaning into big rock guitars and arena-sized beats, and the lyrics are his most personal yet: fame, family, his daughter Hailie, and a few pointed words for politicians and censors.

"Without Me" is pure mischief, "Cleanin' Out My Closet" is raw and confessional, "Sing for the Moment" flips Aerosmith's "Dream On," "Square Dance" and "White America" take aim at Washington, and "'Till I Collapse" with Nate Dogg has soundtracked a million workouts. It went straight to No. 1 and became the year's biggest seller.
