About the album

You'd think everybody already had a copy of the Eagles' first greatest hits album by now, given that it's sold something like 40 million copies in the US alone. But here we are, and new generations keep discovering those harmonies. Volume 1 gathers the band's first four albums of sun-drenched country rock: "Take It Easy," "Witchy Woman," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," "Desperado" and "Lyin' Eyes."

Volume 2 picks up the story with the Joe Walsh era: "Hotel California" and its legendary guitar duel, "New Kid in Town," "Life in the Fast Lane," "Heartache Tonight" and "I Can't Tell You Why," plus a live "Seven Bridges Road." Together they make one long, easy-listening California road trip from 1972 to 1980.
