About the album

After Future Nostalgia turned her into a disco queen, Dua Lipa announced a change of scenery: her hair went red, and her next record would be a psychedelic-pop tribute to UK rave culture, inspired by London and the confidence of '90s Britpop. The title came from a phrase a friend had introduced to her, about staying hopeful through chaos.

Tame Impala's Kevin Parker co-produced with Danny L Harle, Ian Kirkpatrick and Andrew Wyatt, and you can hear his swirl all over it. "Houdini" is a slippery, dance-floor vanishing act, "Training Season" is a confident kiss-off with a big chorus, "Illusion" pulses with Eurodance energy, and "End Of An Era" opens the album on a sunny note. "French Exit," "Falling Forever" and "Happy For You" fill out the second side, the last of them closing on a generous note.

She toured it around the world from November 2024 to December 2025. A record called Radical Optimism, pressed on clear vinyl, is about as transparent a sales pitch as we've ever been handed.
