About the album

Side one was recorded at the Troubadour in Hollywood and side two at the Bitter End in Greenwich Village, capturing Hathaway with a crack band including bassist Willie Weeks and guitarist Cornell Dupree.

His take on Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On" is transcendent, "The Ghetto" stretches into a thrilling jam, the audience sings along to "You've Got a Friend," and Weeks's bass solo on "Voices Inside (Everything Is Everything)" is the stuff of legend.
