![Dolly Parton: Jolene [RCA / LEGACY]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33149533/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-dolly-parton-jolene-rca-legacy.jpg)
Dolly Parton's 1974 classic Jolene, home of the title track and the original "I Will Always Love You."
Jolene features two of the most famous songs ever written: the title track, a country number one, and "I Will Always Love You," later a worldwide smash for Whitney Houston.
Dolly Parton wrote both "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" in the same remarkable period, and this album, made just as she was stepping out on her own after years with Porter Wagoner, captures her songwriting at its peak.
"Jolene" is a timeless, pleading masterpiece with one of the great guitar figures in country music, "I Will Always Love You" is a tender farewell, and "River of Happiness" and "Highlight of My Life" show off her warm, sweet voice. Essential country.
