About the album

Brothers make complicated bandmates, and Pusha T and Malice know it better than most. Clipse split after Til the Casket Drops in 2009, found their way back together on a Kanye West track in 2019, and started work on this album in 2023 with their oldest ally, Pharrell Williams, as executive producer and the one producer on every track.

Sessions were split between their home state of Virginia and the Louis Vuitton headquarters in Paris, where Pharrell was creative director of menswear. The guest list is serious: Kendrick Lamar on "Chains & Whips," Nas on "Let God Sort Em Out / Chandeliers," Tyler, the Creator on "P.O.V.," plus John Legend, The-Dream, Stove God Cooks, Ab-Liva and the choir Voices of Fire, with Lenny Kravitz and Stevie Wonder in the credits. "Ace Trumpets" was the lead single, and "So Be It" got a video of its own.

Critics praised the duo's raw, reflective writing and the chemistry that sixteen years apart did nothing to dent. It was partly recorded at a fashion house in Paris, which is a good deal more glamorous than our back office.
