About the album

Most singers put together a greatest hits when things are winding down. Celine Dion assembled this one in the middle of a world tour, having just wrapped A New Day..., her Las Vegas residency, after 717 shows and nearly three million tickets. The Taking Chances World Tour went on to visit 93 cities on five continents.

The big ones are all here: "The Power of Love," "Because You Loved Me" and "My Heart Will Go On" all topped the Billboard Hot 100, and "Think Twice" went to No. 1 in the UK. The title song is a live take of "My Love," written for her by Linda Perry and recorded in Stockholm on June 7, 2008, and "There Comes a Time" was new for the set. The vinyl adds "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" and "If You Asked Me To" alongside "All by Myself," "I Drove All Night" and "Beauty and the Beast."

Abroad it reached No. 5 in the UK and No. 8 in the US, and went five times platinum in Britain. The Bee Gees wrote "Immortality" for her, which is roughly what happens once you've already won over everybody else.
