![Bon Iver: Blood Bank EP [JAGJAGUWAR]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/38607893/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-bon-iver-blood-bank-ep-jagjaguwar.jpg)
Bon Iver's 2009 Blood Bank EP, the four-song follow-up to For Emma, Forever Ago: "Blood Bank," "Beach Baby," "Babys" and "Woods."
Blood Bank bridges Bon Iver's cabin-folk debut and their bolder later work, and the a cappella, Auto-Tuned "Woods" became a landmark of its own.
Justin Vernon followed his breakthrough with four songs that expand his hushed, falsetto-led folk, with warmer arrangements, piano and the beginnings of the vocal experiments that defined his future sound.
The title track is a warm, wintry love song, "Beach Baby" is gentle and lovely, "Babys" pulses on repeating piano, and "Woods" layers Vernon's processed voice into something haunting and beautiful.
The bridge between the cabin-folk debut and the bolder later work. Four songs, all essential.
