About the album

Big Thief spent five months recording all over the United States, from upstate New York to the Topanga Canyon hills to the Colorado Rockies to Tucson, Arizona, with drummer James Krivchenia producing. What came out is a big, loving double album that wanders from folk to country to fiddle hoedowns to fuzzed-out rock.

"Simulation Swarm" is one of Adrianne Lenker's most beautiful songs, "Change" and "Certainty" are warm as a campfire, "Spud Infinity" is a jaw-harp-powered singalong and "Red Moon" sounds like a front-porch party. A record to live with all year long.
