About the album

Recorded at their own G-Son studio in Los Angeles with producer Mario Caldato Jr., Check Your Head found Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA playing live drums, bass and guitar alongside keyboardist Money Mark. The result is loose, funky and full of personality.

"So What'cha Want" and "Pass the Mic" are hip hop bangers, "Gratitude" is a heavy rocker, "Jimmy James" is a Hendrix-sampling groove, and instrumentals like "Lighten Up" and "In 3's" show off their love of funk and soul jazz.
