About the album

For their fourth album, Avenged Sevenfold produced everything themselves and threw the doors wide open: orchestras, big-band swing, country and Queen-style theatrics all crash into the blistering metal that made them famous. It's ambitious, fearless and a whole lot of fun.

"Almost Easy" and "Critical Acclaim" are full-throttle anthems, "Afterlife" is a strings-and-shredding epic, "Dear God" is a road-weary country-rock ballad, and "A Little Piece of Heaven" is an eight-minute horror-musical showstopper. Kerrang! put it on its list of 666 albums you must hear.
