Indie Exclusive 30th anniversary 2LP of Alice in Chains' 1992 masterpiece Dirt on opaque yellow vinyl: "Would?," "Rooster," "Them Bones" and "Down in a Hole."
Dirt is Alice in Chains at their heaviest and most harrowing, and the grunge-era classic most fans reach for first. This indie exclusive 30th anniversary edition is remastered on two opaque yellow LPs.
Alice in Chains' second album is one of the bleakest records ever to sell millions of copies. Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell wrote openly about addiction, war, death and despair, and they set it all to riffs that hit like a ton of bricks and to those unmistakable, ghostly vocal harmonies.
"Them Bones" and "Dam That River" open the album like a punch in the gut, "Rooster" is Cantrell's tribute to his father's time in Vietnam, "Down in a Hole" is devastating, and "Would?" (first heard on the Singles soundtrack) is one of the defining songs of the Seattle era. Dirt went multi-platinum and has never really left the racks since. This 30th anniversary pressing is remastered and spread over two LPs.
