About the album

Alex Giannascoli made Trick at home in Philadelphia and put it out himself on Bandcamp in 2012, and for a lot of people it was the moment they realised the guy had something special. The songs are short, hazy and strange, full of half-heard vocals, warm acoustic guitars and melodies that sneak up on you and refuse to leave.

"Mary" and "Sarah" are the ones that blew up years later on TikTok and Spotify, but the whole record rewards repeat listens, from the jangly "Memory" to the gentle "Forever." Lucky Number gave it a proper mastered reissue in 2015, and this deluxe edition adds a bonus 7". It's the starting point for anyone getting into Alex G.
