About the album

Bad Vibes Forever was the name XXXTentacion picked for his very first album back in 2016, and it ended up as the title of his last. After 17, ? and the posthumous Skins, his estate finished the project he had long planned, and it arrived in December 2019 through his own Bad Vibes Forever label and Empire.

The range is as wide as his tastes were. "Hearteater" is a gentle, aching ballad, "Royalty" pulls in Ky-Mani Marley, Stefflon Don and Vybz Kartel for a dancehall-flavoured anthem, and the title track teams him with PnB Rock and Trippie Redd. Elsewhere the guest list runs from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Joey Bada$$ and Tory Lanez to Noah Cyrus, Mavado and Blink-182, with production from X himself alongside DJ Carnage, John Cunningham and Ronny J. Acoustic moments sit next to hardcore rap and rock, sometimes in the same song.

It plays like a scrapbook of everything he was reaching for, from punk to dancehall to tender pop. Twenty-five songs across four sides is a proper listening session; you may want to put the kettle on before side A.
