About the album

The Internet started as a side project from Odd Future's Syd and Matt Martians, but by their third album they'd grown into a full band, with a teenage Steve Lacy on guitar, Patrick Paige II on bass and Christopher Smith on drums. Ego Death is loose, warm and grown-up R&B, built on live grooves and Syd's cool, confiding voice.

"Special Affair" and "Girl" (with Kaytranada) are slinky late-night classics, "Gabby" brings in Janelle Monáe, "Go with It" features Vic Mensa, and "Palace / Curse" closes with Tyler, the Creator and Steve Lacy. The album's Grammy nomination announced the Internet as one of the best bands in modern soul.
