Queens of the Stone Age's 1998 desert rock debut in an expanded 2LP edition with extra tracks: "Regular John," "Avon," "If Only" and "Mexicola."
On order
The first QOTSA album introduced Josh Homme's hypnotic, riff-driven desert rock to the world. This expanded edition adds tracks from the band's earliest sessions.
After the end of Kyuss, Josh Homme wanted to make heavy music that was also trance-like and danceable. He recorded most of this debut at Monkey Studios in Palm Desert in 1998, playing nearly everything himself with former Kyuss drummer Alfredo Hernández, then finished it at the famous Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree.
"Regular John" and "Avon" lock into relentless, hypnotic grooves, "If Only" is a catchy rocker, and "Mexicola" and "You Would Know" show off the stoner, krautrock and punk influences that made the band unique. Expanded edition on Matador.
