About the album

Hayley Williams was just 16 when Paramore recorded their debut in Orlando, and you can hear the energy of a young band that knew exactly what it wanted to be. The songs are tight, catchy pop-punk with emo heartache, built around Williams' already huge voice and Josh Farro's sharp guitar.

Bassist Jeremy Davis left just before recording, and that sense of loss runs through the album, starting with its title. "Pressure" and "Emergency" are fan favourites, "All We Know" sets the tone, and "My Heart" closes things with a big singalong. The label built the band slowly through word of mouth, and it worked: three years later they were one of the biggest rock bands in the world.
