Panic! at the Disco's 2016 album Death of a Bachelor, with "Victorious," "Hallelujah" and "Emperor's New Clothes."
This Fueled By Ramen LP comes with an insert and a download card. Death of a Bachelor debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, went double platinum and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
Brendon Urie made this one at home, in every sense. Flying solo, he wrote and recorded the whole album himself in a small studio built in his house, with a piano bought specially for the job, and said the songs reflected his new married life with his wife, Sarah.
Urie and Jake Sinclair handled production, and the record mixes big pop-rock hooks with a crooner's swagger. The title track is his Frank Sinatra moment, written as Sinatra turned 100; "Victorious," co-written and produced by CJ Baran, and "Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time" are party-starters, "Hallelujah" was the lead single, and "Emperor's New Clothes" struts in with a theatrical sneer. "LA Devotee" and "House Of Memories" round out the singalongs.
It gave the band their best sales week ever, 190,000 units in seven days. Urie has a voice that could fill Caesars Palace, and on this album he more or less books the room.
