![Metric: Synthetica [METRIC MUSIC / CRYSTAL MATH]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/51588807/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-metric-synthetica-metric-music-crystal-m.jpg)
Metric's 2012 Juno-winning album Synthetica, glossy synth-rock from Toronto: "Youth Without Youth," "Breathing Underwater" and "Synthetica."
Synthetica won the Juno for Alternative Album of the Year and was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Emily Haines and company at their sleekest.
Toronto's Metric blend new wave synths, shimmering guitars and big pop hooks, fronted by the magnetic Emily Haines. Synthetica, their fifth album, explores what's real and what's artificial in modern life, and it's packed with anthems.
"Youth Without Youth" has a swaggering glam stomp, "Breathing Underwater" is a soaring, emotional highlight, and the title track and "Dreams So Real" pulse with energy. Lou Reed even guests on "The Wanderlust."
