About the album

Kid Cudi turned the out-of-nowhere success of "Day 'n' Nite" into one of the most influential debuts of its era: a five-act concept album about dreams, nightmares and finding your way, narrated by Common and produced by Kanye West, Emile Haynie, Plain Pat, Jeff Bhasker and Dot da Genius.

"Day 'n' Nite" and "Soundtrack 2 My Life" are the heart of it, "Pursuit of Happiness" (with MGMT and Ratatat) became an anthem, "Make Her Say" flips Lady Gaga with Kanye and Common, and "Up Up & Away" sends you off on a high. Cudi's humming, hazy sound is everywhere in hip hop today.
