About the album

Jamie Smith spent five years making In Colour around his work producing for the xx, and it plays like a scrapbook of nights out in London: pirate-radio jungle, steel drums, house pianos, field recordings and euphoric sampled vocals, all arranged with the same tasteful restraint he brings to the xx.

"Loud Places" with bandmate Romy is a heart-on-sleeve anthem, "Gosh" builds into a towering rave climax, "I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)" with Young Thug and Popcaan is pure sunshine, and "Girl" and "SeeSaw" (with Romy) are gorgeous. It's a modern classic of electronic music.
