Iron Maiden's 1981 second album Killers, the first with guitarist Adrian Smith: "Wrathchild," "Murders in the Rue Morgue," "Killers" and "Purgatory."
Killers sharpened Iron Maiden's sound with producer Martin Birch, and songs like "Wrathchild" have stayed in their live sets ever since.
Iron Maiden's second album introduced guitarist Adrian Smith alongside Dave Murray, and began the band's long partnership with producer Martin Birch. Paul Di'Anno's raw, punky vocals and Steve Harris' galloping bass drive a set of fast, tight, ferocious heavy metal.
"Wrathchild" is a stomping fan favourite, "Murders in the Rue Morgue" was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, the title track is an epic, and "The Ides of March" and "Genghis Khan" are thrilling instrumentals. The Killers tour also took the band to the US for the first time.
