Iron Maiden's 1982 classic and Bruce Dickinson's debut with the band: "Run to the Hills," "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and the title track.
The Number of the Beast was Iron Maiden's first UK No. 1 album and gave them their first top-ten single, "Run to the Hills." It's one of the defining records of heavy metal.
Iron Maiden's third album marked the arrival of Bruce Dickinson, the operatic air-raid siren of a singer who turned Steve Harris's galloping songs into something truly epic. It was also Clive Burr's final album on drums, and producer Martin Birch captured the band at full power.
"Run to the Hills" and the title track are metal anthems known the world over, "Children of the Damned" and "The Prisoner" are fan favourites, and the closing "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is routinely named one of the greatest metal songs ever written. Up the Irons!
