Why you'll love it

Cypress Hill's debut introduced B-Real's nasal flow, Sen Dog's growl and DJ Muggs's smoky, funky production, a West Coast hip hop landmark that went double platinum.

About the album

Recorded in Los Angeles between 1990 and 1991, the album blends dusty soul and funk samples, bilingual rhymes and stoned, menacing grooves into a sound unlike anything else in rap at the time.

"How I Could Just Kill a Man" is an instant classic, "Hand on the Pump" flips a doo-wop sample brilliantly, "The Phuncky Feel One" grooves, and "Latin Lingo" celebrates their Latino roots.
