About the album

Blue Rodeo and Massey Hall go together like Queen Street and streetcars. The Toronto band recorded these shows at the grand old hall on Shuter Street in 2014, touring their album In Our Nature, and the room's warm, close acoustics suit them perfectly.

Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, who wrote every song here, trade lead vocals over Bob Egan's pedal steel, Michael Boguski's piano, organ and accordion, and Colin Cripps's guitar. "Head Over Heels" and "Bad Timing" set things up, "Disappear" stretches past eight minutes, "Diamond Mine" and "5 Days in May" each run over nine, and "Lost Together" closes the night with the whole hall singing along.

The band produced it themselves, with Duke Foster recording and mixing. If you were in the room, here's proof; if you weren't, it's the next best thing to a seat in the balcony, with better legroom.
