![Bill Evans Trio: Sunday at the Village Vanguard (Original Jazz Classics) [RIVERSIDE / CRAFT]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/36046003/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-bill-evans-trio-sunday-at-the-village-va.jpg)
Bill Evans Trio's legendary 1961 live album Sunday at the Village Vanguard, with Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian, in the Original Jazz Classics series.
Sunday at the Village Vanguard is routinely ranked among the greatest live jazz recordings ever made, a masterclass in trio interplay.
Recorded at New York's Village Vanguard in June 1961, this set captures pianist Bill Evans, bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian playing as true equals, with LaFaro's melodic, conversational bass lines weaving around Evans's lyrical piano.
LaFaro's own "Gloria's Step" and "Jade Visions" are gorgeous, Miles Davis's "Solar" swings with quiet intensity, and "Alice in Wonderland" and "All of You" are pure, glowing beauty.
