About the album

Action Bronson has always rapped like a man describing a very good meal, and Cocodrillo Turbo, his sixth album, points that appetite at the jungle. He executive produced it himself, and the core creative team was Bronson, The Alchemist and Daringer, a trio that knows exactly how strange to let things get. The result is a sixth album that sounds like nobody else's, Bronson's included.

"Subzero" was the lead single, and around it sit "Hound Dog," "Tongpo," "Jaws," "Jaguar" and "Storm of the Century," mixing rock-tinged rap with what AllMusic called punch-drunk jazz and sideways psychedelia. Spill Magazine praised the way it blends the rock-influenced rap Bronson is known for with some of his most outrageous production, and Clash heard a veritable buffet of East Coast rap delights that flows easily and seamlessly. AllMusic also found him the most motivated he'd sounded in years.

HipHopDX said the team found a way to make a jungle-themed rap album that doesn't come off like a cheesy rainforest cafe, and they're right. No plastic parrots were harmed in the making of this record.
