AC/DC's 1983 ninth album Flick of the Switch, remastered on 180g vinyl with "Rising Power," "Nervous Shakedown" and the title track.
This 180g remaster comes with a printed inner sleeve of liner notes and photos in an embossed jacket. The band produced it themselves for a deliberately raw, dry sound.
After two albums polished to a high shine, AC/DC decided to roll their sleeves back down. They returned to Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, where they'd made Back in Black, but this time they produced themselves, with Malcolm Young chasing the feeling of a band all in one room, everything happening at once.
Angus Young said they wanted it as raw as possible: big natural guitars, no echo, no reverb, no noise eliminators. You can hear it straight away on "Rising Power" and "This House Is On Fire," and the title track and "Nervous Shakedown" are pure riff and swagger. "Bedlam In Belgium" spins a tale from the road, and "Landslide" puts Brian Johnson, on his third album with the band, in full flight.
It was Phil Rudd's last album with the band until his return on Ballbreaker in 1995. No reverb, no frills, no nonsense; essentially the musical equivalent of a man in shorts who has never once considered long trousers.
