About the album

Aaliyah was just a teenager when she made her first album, blending smooth New Jack Swing and hip hop beats with her silky, effortlessly cool voice. It made her a star overnight and set the stage for her groundbreaking later work with Timbaland and Missy Elliott.

"Back & Forth" is an irresistibly breezy hit, her cover of the Isley Brothers' "At Your Best (You Are Love)" is gorgeous, and "Down with the Clique" and "Throw Your Hands Up" bring the 90s groove.
