About the album

Learn & Burn took home three 2012 Juno Awards: Rock Album of the Year, New Group of the Year and Single of the Year ("I Don't Know"). Originally out in 2010, Learn & Burn is the third studio album by Canadian blues-rockers The Sheepdogs.

When writing and recording Learn & Burn, the band took inspiration from 60s and 70s psych and garage rock, recreating the classic sound and feel of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers. The finished product transports you back to the 1970s; an instant classic rock album with a modern twist!

The Sheepdogs came together at the University of Saskatchewan in 2004, when Ewan Currie, Ryan Gullen and Sam Corbett started jamming in Corbett's parents' basement; Leot Hanson joined two years later after a singalong at a party, and the four of them changed the name to The Sheepdogs the next day. The band recorded it themselves in Saskatoon on their own gear, and in 2011 it carried them onto the cover of Rolling Stone, the first unsigned act to get there. Not a bad return on a basement drum kit and a music-store gift certificate.
