Why you'll love it

Hail to the Thief brought guitars back to the fore after Kid A and Amnesiac, mixing rock urgency with electronic textures, and "There, There" is one of Radiohead's greatest singles.

About the album

Wanting to work faster after the long, experimental sessions for Kid A and Amnesiac, Radiohead recorded most of Hail to the Thief in Los Angeles in just two weeks with producer Nigel Godrich. The result is a sprawling, restless album that blends both sides of the band.

"There, There" builds on rumbling tom-toms into a huge, cathartic climax, "2 + 2 = 5" bursts into life, "Sail to the Moon" is one of Thom Yorke's loveliest ballads, and "Where I End and You Begin" and "Myxomatosis" groove darkly and hypnotically.
