2LP of Radiohead's 2001 fifth album, born in the Kid A sessions: "Pyramid Song," "Knives Out," "I Might Be Wrong" and "You and Whose Army?"
Amnesiac went to No. 1 in the UK and No. 2 in the US and earned a Grammy nomination. "Pyramid Song" and "Knives Out" are two of the most beautiful things Radiohead ever recorded.
Radiohead recorded so much music during the Kid A sessions that they split it into two albums, and Amnesiac is the darker, jazzier, stranger twin. Electronic glitches, krautrock grooves, chamber strings and New Orleans brass all find a home here, with Nigel Godrich producing again.
"Pyramid Song" floats on Thom Yorke's piano and Jonny Greenwood's strings, "Knives Out" is the closest thing to a classic Radiohead guitar song, "I Might Be Wrong" has one of their best riffs, and "Life in a Glasshouse" features jazz trumpeter Humphrey Lyttelton and his band. It rewards repeat listens like few records do.
