Face to Face's 1992 debut album, remastered on light blue vinyl, with "Disconnected" and two bonus tracks.
This light blue pressing is remastered and adds "Who You Are" and the title track to the original 13 songs. It's the record that introduced Trever Keith's band and carries the first version of "Disconnected."
Southern California punk in the early 90s had no shortage of fast bands, but Face to Face had the hooks to match the speed. Trever Keith, Matt Riddle and Rob Kurth made Don't Turn Away for Dr. Strange Records in 1992, and Fat Wreck Chords picked it up and reissued it a year later, which put it in front of a much bigger crowd.
The songs are short, tight and loaded with melody. "You've Done Nothing" kicks things off in under two minutes, "I'm Not Afraid" and "No Authority" hit hard, and "Disconnected" was such a standout that the band re-recorded it for Big Choice after Los Angeles station KROQ got behind it. Keith and Riddle wrote every song, and the band produced the record themselves, with Jim Goodwin and Donnell Cameron engineering. The original running order closes on "1,000 X" before the two bonus cuts.
It sits comfortably on the shelf next to Hüsker Dü and Social Distortion, and it still sounds like a band in a hurry. Fifteen songs, very little hanging about, and you'll still be home in time for tea.
