About the album

Mississauga has given the world plenty, but few exports are as loud as this. Ben Kowalewicz, Ian D'Sa, Jon Gallant and Aaron Solowoniuk spent the 2000s turning frantic, hook-stuffed punk into Canadian rock radio staples, and Hits gathers the lot in one go.

The debut supplies "Try Honesty," "River Below" and "Nothing to Lose." From Billy Talent II come "Devil in a Midnight Mass," "Red Flag," "Fallen Leaves" and "Surrender," while III brings "Devil on My Shoulder" and "Rusted from the Rain" and Dead Silence adds "Viking Death March," "Surprise Surprise" and "Stand Up and Run." Two new songs, "Kingdom of Zod" and "Chasing the Sun," close it out in the same high-octane style. To launch it, the band turned their website into a Video Vault and posted a video a day, with the members telling the stories behind each song. "Kingdom of Zod" went out as a single that September, ahead of the album.

Ian D'Sa's guitar parts and Kowalewicz's yelp are instantly recognisable from three rooms away. That's useful, because three rooms away is roughly where the neighbours will be standing.
