Homer's pink-frosted donut as a die-cut 10" picture disc, with Danny Elfman's Simpsons theme on one side and "The Monorail Song" on the other. Out October 9, 2026.
Homer's pink donut as a die-cut 10" picture disc that actually plays. Side A is Danny Elfman's Simpsons theme, which he calls the most popular piece of his career. Side B is "The Monorail Song," from what showrunner Josh Weinstein called "the best episode of television ever."
In 1989 Matt Groening asked Danny Elfman for an opening theme, and Elfman found the tune in his car on the drive home from that meeting. He recorded a demo the same day, and the choir that sings "The Simpsons" at the top is Elfman himself with two friends.
"The Monorail Song" belongs to "Marge vs. the Monorail," the 1993 season-four episode Conan O'Brien wrote. It borrows the shape of "Ya Got Trouble" from The Music Man, as the smooth-talking Lyle Lanley sells Springfield a monorail it never needed.
