Nina Simone's 1974 album It Is Finished, recorded largely live in New York, on sunhat yellow vinyl. National Album Day 2026 edition.
Nina Simone's last album for RCA, on yellow vinyl to match the sunhat on the cover. She recorded most of it live at New York's Philharmonic Hall in 1973, with African percussion and sitar around her piano.
Simone took songs by Steppenwolf, Tina Turner and Jerry Jeff Walker and made them her own. The Pusher burns slowly, Funkier Than A Mosquito's Tweeter struts, and Mr. Bojangles turns tender.
Harold Wheeler, Nat Shapiro and Simone produced it, with Samuel Waymon, Al Schackman and Don Alias in the band. Soon after, she left the US for Barbados.
