King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard's 2022 double album, back as a 2026 repress on Cosmic Black 2LP in a deluxe gatefold.
This 2026 repress spreads all 16 tracks across a Cosmic Black 2LP set in a deluxe gatefold, with a lyric inner sleeve and the band's own studio photos. The album was the first the band made together in one room after lockdown, hit No. 4 in Australia, and Clash called it "a phenomenal entry-point to 'the Gizzverse.'"
Most bands spend a career trying to settle on a sound. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard seem to have decided early that settling is for other people, which is how Omnium Gatherum came to be their 20th studio album, with a fan base that genuinely can't predict what's next. The title (Latin for "a collection of everything," more or less) is the most honest they've ever chosen: their first double album, 80 minutes and 16 songs, and the first record the band made playing together in the same room since lockdown pushed K.G., L.W. and Butterfly 3000 into remote sessions.
So it's a feast. "The Dripping Tap" kicks things off as a sprawling, gonzo psych jam, "Magenta Mountain" and "Kepler-22b" are woozy, gorgeous pop, there's a blast of thrash metal along the way, and "Sadie Sorceress" and "The Grim Reaper" find Stu Mackenzie sampling records he bought online while Ambrose Kenny-Smith raps over the top (yes, really, and it works). It came out in April 2022, landed at No. 4 on the ARIA chart, and it's the album we'd suggest to anybody who's curious about the Gizz but doesn't know which door to walk through first. This one has all of them.
