Janis Joplin's Pearl on pink splatter vinyl, her last album, with Me And Bobby McGee and Mercedes Benz. National Album Day 2026 edition.
Janis Joplin's final album on pink splatter vinyl. It spent nine weeks at number one in the US and holds Me And Bobby McGee, Cry Baby, Mercedes Benz and Get It While You Can.
Joplin recorded Pearl at Sunset Sound in Hollywood in 1970 with producer Paul A. Rothchild and the Full Tilt Boogie Band. She died before the sessions ended, so Buried Alive In The Blues stayed an instrumental.
The a cappella Mercedes Benz was among the last things she recorded. Pearl entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010.
