For Ecca Vandal, punk was survival. Born to a Sri Lankan family in South Africa and raised in Australia, she trained in jazz before finding her freedom in something louder, raw and unapologetic. Looking For People To Unfollow is her second album and her first for Loma Vista, following her 2017 self-titled debut.
Vandal recorded and produced the 17-track album with her longtime partner and collaborator Richie Buxton in his childhood bedroom in bayside Melbourne. It takes aim at the feed: the systems, the trends and the illusions of connection. The singles include "Cruising To Self Soothe", "Molly", "Bleach" and "Sorry! Crash!".
