Limited Edition yellow vinyl pressing of Dio's 1985 Gold album, the last with the original lineup. Out May 1, 2026.
Rhino brings Sacred Heart back as a limited edition on yellow vinyl. Dio's third album reached No. 4 in the UK and No. 29 on the Billboard 200, went Gold, and was the last with the classic lineup of Ronnie James Dio, Vivian Campbell, Jimmy Bain and Vinny Appice.
Ronnie James Dio produced Sacred Heart himself in 1985, two years after Holy Diver made him a star in his own right. The band had hit its stride on the road, and the album sounds like it: big choruses, a keyboard glow behind the guitars, and Dio's voice out front, telling stories of kings and children and fallen angels.
"Rock 'n' Roll Children" became a UK Top 30 single, and "Hungry for Heaven", written for the film Vision Quest, made the US Mainstream Rock chart and later charted again in Britain.
Vivian Campbell left soon after the tour, which makes these nine songs the final word from the band that cut Holy Diver and The Last in Line.
"Just crackling with fierce intensity throughout."
