About the album

Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in 1958, Cannonball Adderley's only Blue Note album features an all-star quintet: Miles Davis on muted trumpet, Hank Jones on piano, Sam Jones on bass and Art Blakey on drums. The mood is relaxed, elegant and deeply swinging.

Their slow, haunting "Autumn Leaves" is one of the definitive versions of the standard, "Love for Sale" sizzles, "Somethin' Else" is a playful call-and-response blues, and "Dancing in the Dark" is a lush ballad showcase for Cannonball.
