There was absolutely nothing else out there that bore any resemblance when Music Has The Right To Children appeared out of nowhere - well, out of rural Scotland - in 1998, instantly establishing the mysterious sibling duo Boards of Canada as a benchmark in the ongoing evolution of electronic music. Elusive, not a little creepy and often groovy in very odd ways, this is a blur of analogue synths, burbling voices and atmospheres influenced by National Film Board of Canada soundtracks the young Boards of Canada lads heard while living for a spell in Calgary. Enchanting and entirely on its own planet.
