Each LP comes in a team's colours, Montreal Metros blue and red against Boston Raiders black and yellow. The soundtrack reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 8 in Canada, and topped the U.S. vinyl albums chart.
Hockey has given this country plenty of great music, mostly in the form of an arena organist and a goal horn, but Heated Rivalry is something else. The Canadian sports romance series from creator Jacob Tierney turned into a genuine phenomenon, and its music did a lot of the heavy lifting. Tierney picked Canadian musician Peter Peter to score it after hearing his 2024 album Éther, and the gamble paid off handsomely: it was Peter Peter's first major TV score, and it won Best Original Music at the Canadian Screen Awards, plus a second award for the song "It's You."
The needle drops are half the fun. t.A.T.u.'s "All the Things She Said" shows up (in two versions, no less), alongside Feist's "My Moon My Man," Wet Leg's "Mangetout" and Wolf Parade's "I'll Believe in Anything," which plays a pivotal role in episode five. Peter Peter's score fills out the rest, from "Rivalry" to "Fire Escape" and the "One Soul (Cottage Mix)." The physical set came out in July 2026 and moved 41,000 units in its first chart week in the U.S., 28,000 of them on vinyl, and went Top 10 from Australia to Germany. A homegrown soundtrack with plenty of Canadian talent on it, and a lovely thing to own whether you're Team Metros or Team Raiders.
On Milan Records, first out in 2026.
