Released on June 16, 1967, “See Emily Play” was Pink Floyd’s second single and one of the band’s defining early psychedelic tracks. Written by original frontman Syd Barrett, the song blended whimsical pop melodies with experimental textures, reaching No. 6 on the UK singles chart. It was later added to the American edition of the band’s debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
