Alone is the tenth studio album by Japanese musician, producer, and composer Masayoshi Takanaka, released by Kitty Records on December 10, 1981.

Musically, Alone combines Takanaka’s signature jazz fusion guitar work with elements of city pop, funk, and electronic music. The album features the atmospheric title track “Alone,” alongside a diverse collection of polished, groove-oriented compositions that showcase his evolving sound during the early 1980s.

One of the album’s standout tracks, “Penguin Dancer,” later gained renewed attention after being sampled by musician Grimes, introducing Takanaka’s music to a new generation of listeners.
