The Rodeo Clown edition comes on a limited red colour vinyl, as loud as the name suggests. Eight-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with this one.
Kacey Musgraves has spent a career sneaking sly jokes into very pretty songs, and on Middle of Nowhere she gives the jokes a dance floor. Her sixth album came out on May 1, 2026, cut again with longtime partners Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, and it's a love letter to the Texas dancehalls she grew up around, with a little Norteño and zydeco in the mix and enough pedal steel to keep any honky-tonk purist happy. The production is warm and roomy, the band sounds like it was cut live on the floor, and her voice has never sounded more at ease.
It reached No. 11 in Canada, and the company is excellent: Willie Nelson stops in for "Uncertain, TX," Miranda Lambert turns up on "Horses and Divorces," Billy Strings rides along on "Everybody Wants to Be a Cowboy" and Gregory Alan Isakov sings on "Coyote." The lead single "Dry Spell" has that classic Kacey wink, and "Back on the Wagon" and "Abilene" lean into pure old-school twang. She sounds like she's having a ball, and it's catching, so this one's for anybody who misses the country that made you want to grab a partner.
On Lost Highway / Interscope, first out in 2026.
