Madonna's 2005 dance-floor classic with its original continuous mix on vinyl for the first time, on 2LP silver vinyl.
The first time the original continuous mix has been pressed on vinyl, on limited 2LP silver vinyl in a gatefold jacket. The album won the Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album and sold around 10 million copies worldwide.
By 2005 Madonna had been reinventing herself for two decades, so the twist this time was going back to where it all started: the club. Working mainly with Stuart Price, she built Confessions on a Dance Floor like a DJ set, every track blending into the next without a gap, starting bright and getting more intense and personal as the night wears on. It was her 10th studio album, and arguably the most fun she'd had in years. Hearing it as one unbroken piece, the way she intended, is the whole point.
"Hung Up" did the heavy lifting, riding a sample of ABBA's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" to No. 1 in 41 countries, and "Sorry" gave her a 12th U.K. No. 1 single, with "Get Together" and "Jump" following. The LP debuted at No. 1 in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, and landed in Guinness World Records for topping the charts in 40 countries. Twenty years on, with Price back at her side for Confessions II, it's the perfect time to hear it the way it was meant to be heard: one long, glittering mix from start to finish, no skipping.
On Warner, a reissue of the 2005 album.
