Brigitte Calls Me Baby's second album Irreversible, the Chicago band's jangly, croon-heavy 2026 LP, on white vinyl.
This pressing puts Irreversible on white vinyl. Produced by Yves and Lawrence Rothman, it carries the singles "Slumber Party," "I Danced With Another Love In My Dream" and "I Can Take the Sun Out of the Sky," and Beats Per Minute noted it "does midtempo but it doesn't do mid-album."
Most singers spend years hiding their influences. Wes Leavins went the other way: he moved to Chicago in 2016 to play Elvis Presley in Million Dollar Quartet, then ended up providing Elvis's voice for the biopic Elvis, so when people compare his croon to Presley, Roy Orbison and Morrissey, he's earned the right to shrug and say fair enough. Brigitte Calls Me Baby came together around him in Chicago in 2022, signed to ATO, put out the debut The Future Is Our Way Out in 2024, and promptly found themselves opening for Morrissey himself in Manchester.
Irreversible, out in March 2026, is the confident second step. The jangly post-punk guitars and new wave synths are still there, but the production is sleeker and the songs land harder: "Slumber Party" swoons, "The Pit" and "Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction" have real swagger, and "These Acts Of Which We're Designed" shows off just how much drama Leavins can wring from a single line. Beats Per Minute put it nicely: it "exudes modernity with retro touches." If your shelf has the Smiths and the Strokes sitting side by side, this white LP fits neatly in between.
"Irreversible does midtempo but it doesn't do mid-album."
