The great Canadian success story starts here. Blue Rodeo was still a Toronto indie band on the tiny Risque Disque label when Outskirts slipped onto the charts in 1987 thanks to such instantly memorable - and still somewhat omnipresent - singles as "Rose Coloured Glasses," "Outskirts" and, of course, the magnificent ballad "Try." Most bands wait their whole careers for a song like that, but the songwriting partnership of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor came up with that one right off the bat. There would be many more hits to come.
